Look Who’s Talking…California Lawyer Association’s Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite

Kronick is pleased to again sponsor the California Lawyer Association’s Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite on October 19-22, 2023.

On October 22nd, Shareholder Holly Roberson will be moderating the panel “Blockbuster Case Law Update: Recent Tribal Environmental Law Cases at the U.S. Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit, and Southern District of California Relevant to Your Practice” which will discuss three recent cases of great importance to water users in California, Tribal Nations, and anyone interested in water rights, sovereignty, or the complex inter-relationship between environmental law, land use, environmental quality enforcement, natural resources law, and tribal law. Panelists include Denise Turner Walsh Attorney General of Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians, Heather Whiteman Runs Him Director, Tribal Justice Clinic and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, and Stephanie Zehren Counsel for the San Luis Rey Indian Water Authority.

Ms. Roberson is a member of the executive committee of the Environmental Law Section of the California Lawyers Association. She has served as a member of the Environmental Law Section’s legislative committee since 2012 and has also spoken at several of the Section’s conferences and webinars on topics including environmental justice and community engagement. Ms. Roberson also serves as a mentor for the Section’s Environmental Law Diversity Inclusion fellowship program, of which Kronick is a sponsor and provides scholarships for students to attend the conference.

The Environmental Law Section furthers the knowledge of members in the fields of law affecting the environment and environmental regulatory law. Substantive areas and topics include Air, litigation, energy, waste management, natural resources, water, land use, toxics, and CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act).
