KMTG’s Education and Employment & Labor Practice Groups Get A Boost With The Addition Of Two Attorneys

Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard recently welcomed two attorneys to its practice: Chelsea Olson in the education practice group and Christopher Onstott in the employment and labor law group.

An associate attorney practicing education law, Chelsea R. Olson joined KMTG in our newest office in San Luis Obispo. She provides legal guidance and preventative counseling to school districts and county offices of education in a variety of legal matters affecting the delivery of public education. Her experience includes student rights and discipline, personnel issues, including employee disputes, disciplinary actions and terminations, general governance, the Brown Act, the Public Records Act and conflicts of interest.

A graduate from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2006, Ms. Olson gained a considerable amount of practical experience through various clerkships during law school, including a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Simeon R. Acoba at the Supreme Court of Hawaii, a Law Clerk for a Sacramento education law firm and an Extern for the Honorable Michael T. Garcia in the Sacramento Superior Court.

Returning to the firm after a year-long absence, KMTG welcomed back Christopher Onstott as an associate attorney in the employment and labor law group in our Sacramento office. His areas of emphasis include labor and employment litigation for management, including defending against race, sex and disability discrimination and harassment claims, as well as claims for misappropriation of trade secrets. He also defends claims involving wrongful discharge, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and represents employers in actions against former employees accused of wrongdoing.

A graduate from the University of Texas School Of Law in 2002, Mr. Onstott brings exemplary oral advocacy, writing and research skills to his practice. In addition to a successful practice litigating disputes in both federal and state courts, Mr. Onstott also provides advice and counsel to employers on California compliance laws and general business matters. Prior to joining KMTG, Mr. Onstott worked in the Sacramento office of a state-wide employment and labor law firm representing California employers. His previous work experience also includes working in the litigation department of a national law firm where he gained experience in business and employment litigation.
