Agriculture

Our distinguished history in California water law is the foundation on which our food and agribusiness practice is built.

Since 1959, our attorneys have been instrumental in shaping California’s food and agriculture industry. Our founders, Stan Kronick and Adolph Moskovitz, were leaders in the post war development of water resources in California and are credited with helping conceive and lay the groundwork for the water allocation policies embraced by the Brown Administration in the 1960’s. Both were primary drivers in financing, managing and building the many water projects which are now the cornerstone of the State’s water supply for both its citizens and its farmland.

Today, Kronick continues to lead California’s thriving food and agriculture industry by providing informed and sophisticated advice to landowners (farmers, ranchers, dairymen, winemakers and seed growers), processors, packers, distributors, equipment manufacturers, investors and lenders. Our specialized and extensive experience – ranging from obtaining and protecting reliable water supplies to personnel and farm management issues and from real estate purchase and financing agreements to family-owned estate and succession planning – is why food and agribusinesses throughout the region continue to turn to us.

We draw from the resources and collaboration of attorneys who understand the complicated legal issues surrounding this multi-level industry. Kronick agribusiness attorneys offer top-tier, highly focused regulatory and counseling services across many of California’s food and agriculture industries, including water, wine, grapes, rice, nuts, citrus, seeds, and natural and organics, among others. We help clients navigate the complex web of regulatory and compliance issues from environmental permits and trademarks to advertising and package labeling, including claim substantiation and organic certification issues.

We support our clients’ commodities and their business operations in litigation and dispute resolution across a variety of legal forums, including administrative agencies and state and federal courts; and with the ability to effectively navigate the appeals process when necessary, our agribusiness clients know that Kronick trial lawyers can be relied upon to achieve their goals through almost any litigation circumstance.
